On February 15th, Mr. Deependra Joshi joined Equal Access Nepal as its new Country Director at a ceremony at Equal Access Nepal’s office in Kathmandu. Deependra’s background is in both communications and environmentalism, and he has a deep and broad understanding of communications development.  He has worked as a journalist and in various senior-level capacities at The Kathmandu Post, the leading English newspaper of Nepal, and as Communications and Outreach Manager at the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature).  Most recently, he held the post of Executive Officer of Bird Conservation Nepal.

Deependra’s experience and personality make him the ideal Country Director for Equal Access Nepal.  At his arrival ceremony, after each individual in the 40-person office introduced themselves to him, he said that he was very happy to join such a youthful team and that he himself feels like a young person.  Various Equal Access Nepal team members reciprocated that they were equally happy to accept him as one of them.  To mark the occasion of his arrival, with the click of a mouse, Deependra launched Equal Access Nepal's website www.equalacces.org.np.
